2. Earn Revenue With Article Manager And Google Adsense
Earn Revenue With Article Manager And Google Adsense Many enterprising web site owners have been discovering how they can earn revenue by using Article Manager with Google AdSense. AdSense is an easy way to earn money (you paste a tiny bit of code into your web site, then Google displays ads that are relevant to your content), and it's completely free to sign up. If you're still not sure what they are, you've probably seen them before on various sites, they're those little text ads that read "Ads by Google".

In fact, Tim Carter, site owner of Ask the Builder, (an Article Manager user since January 2003) is combining Article Manager with Google AdSense to make over $30,000 a month.

I know that sounds ridiculous, even impossible (and obviously not every site is going to make THAT much), but it's well documented in a Google AdSense Case Study. Read the full case study to find out what Tim did to earn an average of $1400 daily (and growing).

Article Manager with Google AdSense is so easy to set up that you can be up and running in just three simple steps. If you want, we'll even set up everything for you, from the Article Manager installation to inserting your AdSense code.

4. The Ross Report - Holiday Hours And Greetings
The Ross Report - Holiday Hours And Greetings Happy December everyone!

Here I am, helping out with the newsletter again. Based on the feedback from my last Ross Report, the general consensus is I’m a little "out there". Just think though, if that's what actually made it in there, can you image the things that we cut?

Now, I bet you're all wondering why I started with "Happy December". It's actually my fancy new way of including everyone in the season’s greetings. Most people would go with "Happy Holidays", but what about people that don't actually get holidays? What if they used all their holiday time going to Australia for a month? So whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah or Kwanza, or just work through the whole month, “Happy December” works because it's still going to be December, right? :)

Speaking of which, I am sure that by now, everyone is used to us being open all the time. Well, we do actually take some time off every now and then:

Closed the following dates:

      December 24th

      December 25th

      December 26th

      December 31st

      December 32nd

      January 1st

And finally, since it is that special time of year, I think I’ll close out this report with a passage from interactivetools’ very own Giant Book of December stories:

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all of the staff
Were taking the day off, enjoying a laugh

People were happy, their sites up to date
They'd be home on time, not a moment too late

Their articles all posted and styled with care
With hopes that a category soon would be there

Would customers email? Do they know we’re away?
It says on the site we’re not here today

Is closing the office for three days so wrong?
We’re here 7-days of the week, all year long! :)

Until next time :).
5. Coach's Corner With Mike Briggs - RSS And Article Manager
Coach's Corner With Mike Briggs - RSS And Article Manager Hi Everyone, welcome to the first installment of "Coach's Corner", in this section of the newsletter I'll be providing tutorials outlining how to set up some pretty cool things with our software. And I'm hoping that my new nickname, "Coach", will catch on. This month I'll outline how you can set up an RSS feed with Article Manager so visitors can have access to all sorts of content on your site.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows visitors to subscribe to the content on your site (generally for free). This way, whenever you modify or add new content these visitors will be able to see the change through their RSS reader or aggregator without having to browse around your website. If your site offers an RSS feed, people who subscribe could view your latest headlines which would link back to your website allowing them to read the full article.

Considering it's only about an hour of work, having an RSS feed is very beneficial and you'll notice many popular news-related websites (cnn.com, bbc.co.uk) have RSS feeds that offer their content to readers in a very convenient format.

I'll outline how you can set up Article Manager to publish an XML file that can be used as your RSS feed. There are a few steps to set this up but you can always contact us for support if you have any questions. If this is something you would like me to do for you just let me know. We offer a Priority Consulting service so you could always talk to me and we can go over your requirements together.

6. Google Web Analytics - Free Web Stats Utility
Google Web Analytics - Free Web Stats Utility You may have recently heard all the racket about Google's new web analytics program. To make a long story short, earlier this year Google purchased Urchin, a company with their own paid analytics service. Well the nice people at Google decided to brand it as their own and offer it for absolutely free, to anyone!

Now that might be nice and all, but maybe you're wondering "just what do I need an analytics program for?" or "what the heck is web analytics?"

To put it simply, Google Analytics allows you to track how visitors interact with your website and how ad campaigns perform (AdWords, banner ads, search keywords, and more). Google's analytics program can track the success of these things for you. When you have this information on hand you can focus your marketing resources on campaigns that deliver the best results, and improve your site so it converts more sales.

Previously, even a simple script that tracked sales and campaign effectiveness could be a couple hundred dollars, and a paid service could have a monthly fee that was much more.

The one downside, the program is so popular that you'll have to sign up for a waiting list. You can sign up here, Google will notify you as soon as they have an account available for you.
