I have been asked to disable Port 443 by a customer. What does this mean and should I do it!

Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately this isn't something that has ever come up so I don't have an answer for you. Your web host should be able to provide you more details.
A quick web search shows that Port 443 is for SSL.

Hey Jeff,

Yea, I'm not sure what they're wanting you to to so best just to ask them exactly what it is.

If you were to say firewall port 443 then incoming and outgoing https:// connections wouldn't work.

It's an odd request for sure.  You'll have to find out more about what they're hoping to accomplish.

Hope that helps!
