Hi

I have created a website using cmsb for a client

The website is hosted by a hosting company in the uk (shared server)

My client hosts its own email but they have been experiencing problems, to solve the problem their IT guy has asked me to disable port 443.

What does this mean, how and should I do it?

The only reference I can find on the forum to port 433 is in a post from 2009. It refers to the php.ini file. I am guessing this is out of date as the code isn't in the php-ini file of a new installation, but incase it helps:

; Default port to connect to.

pfpro.defaultport = 443

I have sent the same question to my host company, as I think this is probably a question for them to answer, but incase it is an cmsb issue I would value your input - even if just to rule it out!

Hey Jeff,

Yea, I'm not sure what they're wanting you to to so best just to ask them exactly what it is.

If you were to say firewall port 443 then incoming and outgoing https:// connections wouldn't work.

It's an odd request for sure.  You'll have to find out more about what they're hoping to accomplish.

Hope that helps!
