CMS Builder Newbie Questions

I'm still nowhere near being an expert, so will only be answering your first question here. Better to let the techies deal with yuor second question.

The page where you login is the same as your users, you just need to add the user, then sate which area they can access. They then just have to login at www.YOURDOMAIN.com/admin.php

This has been a very basic answer, but I hope it is what you were looking for.

Now for a little bit of a more detailed answer [:)]

This is an example of how you would allow a user to access only certain records, so here they get access to one page.

In your admin section, select user accounts, then select create.

In the Access pull-down menu, select By Section, then all of your sections will show up. If you had a section called 'Profiles', then where profile is, you would select Writer in the pull-down menu. In the Max Records box you would put 1.

Because the writer would only have access to the one file, you would create this one file, for example, Joe Bloggs, in the usual way (selecting profile in the top left menu and creating it).

Save the file, but then go back into it by clicking Modify.

Right at the top, it will have the information on when the file was created and, in brackets, by who. Next to that is a link that says Change. Click on that link.

You'll see a pull-down menu with all your users. Select the user for that page and then save it.

When your user logs in, they will be taken directly to that page, so no need for them to know about menus or anything else.

I'll go over your questions one at a time :).

1. Joe's definitely got you on the right track here. Another way to find the login page is if you are already logged in yourself. Just click the logout link in the top right. That will
take you back to the login page. Do yo know how to create new accounts?

2. I am not actually sure exactly what you are asking here but it sounds like you are trying to setup a page on your site and have the details from that section you created appear. If that's the case, CMS Builder actually generates the code you need for this. Let me know and I can go into more details on how to get that started.

I just went through the steps you outlined. btw-thanks for this info.

When I finished the steps and logged back in it takes me to a page with a left menu link to the page i have access to.

Is that what you meant?
