Sitemap Generator automatically creates and maintains a standard sitemap.xml file for your website. It uses the site's CMSB permalinks to generate the sitemap, includes the homepage, removes duplicate URLs, and safely replaces the existing sitemap when regenerated.
Overview
Sitemap Generator is a CMSB plugin that automatically creates and maintains a standard sitemap.xml file for your website. It uses the site's CMSB permalinks to generate the sitemap, includes the homepage, removes duplicate URLs, and safely replaces the existing sitemap when regenerated.
The plugin allows administrators to configure the site's public URL and choose between weekly or monthly automatic regeneration. A manual Generate Now option is also available from the CMSB administration area, with a direct link to view the generated sitemap.
It is designed to integrate with CMSB's existing plugin, schema, admin and cron systems, requiring no changes to the site's existing content schemas or CMSB core files.
Setup:
1. Upload the sitemapGenerator folder to your plugins directory and activate it from the Plugins menu.
2. Go to Plugins > Sitemap Generator > Settings, enter your Public Site URL (eg: https://example.com), and choose Weekly or Monthly regeneration.
3. Click "Generate Now" to create your first sitemap, then use the link shown to view it.
After that, the sitemap regenerates automatically: Weekly runs every Sunday at 3:00am, Monthly runs on the last day of each month at 3:00am.
Requires the Permalinks plugin.
