Help with French & English Menu

Hello All

I have a client website that has two parts to it, an English side and a French side. The English side has a link labelled "Francais" which brings the user to the french website. Similar for the French side with "English" as the menu item.

The problem is that when you click on this link, it brings you to the home page of the language you chose. The client wants it to go to the equivalent page in the other language.

For example, if you are on the page "Public Relations", by selecting "Francais", it should take you directly to "Relations publiques" on the French side.

The only way I can think of implementing this functionality is with session cookies, unless anyone has a better idea?

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Ragi

Hi Ragi,

Quick thought. Have to go out, but would modifying the code that returns you to the requesting page after login help at all?

I'm referring to the post login code in the membership plugin

I also remember this Javascript to go back one or more pages.

<a class="your_class" href="javascript:history.go(-1)">Back</a>

Hi,

I think you may be on the right track with sessions. For example if you had just 1 set of pages you could use the language value you set in the session to decide which tables or fields to retrieve and output.

Hope this helps
