Hi all,

we are playing around with trying to add a tab to facebook which diplsays our listings. I have created a simple listing page to test the facility which is http://www.bridlington.net/listings/fb-serviced-tab.php which seems to work fine, however facebook requires any linked url to be available via https: our hosting company provide https access via a mapped link thereby the required link to access the page by https is https://web106.secure-secure.co.uk/bridlington.net/listings/fb-serviced-tab.php which all seems straight forward except if you view the https link you will see that the property images do not show although other images on the page (click for full details) shows without issue.

If you click the link for more information (on the https version) it tries to load https://web106.secure-secure.co.uk/listings/serviced_detail.php?Cameron-Court-Hotel-50 for example but for some reason part of the address is omitted it should be https://web106.secure-secure.co.uk/bridlington.net/listings/serviced_detail.php?Cameron-Court-Hotel-50 which seems to work however once again the images relating to the listing are missing. (note the bridlington.net folder is missing in the https address created by the cmsb generated link)

My questions therefore are;

1) why are the cmsb related images not displaying when accessed by the https url?

2)why is part of the url being omitted when linking to the more detail page using https?

3)why are the images again not showing on the detail page when the https url is used

The above issues are not facebook related beyond their requirement to use https urls and while it would be useful to us to be able to provide listings within facebook we can live without it if it is going to be more trouble than it is worth or could in any way affect things displaying properly on our normal listing pages within our site.

Any insight into this would be appreciated as would any feedback as to whether anyone has managed to succesfully include listings in a facebook tab particularly when using their new layouts and fan pages.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Steve

Hi Steve,

The issue here is all of your links are relative to the root of your site (ie bridlington.net). When you view it with https://web106.secure-secure.co.uk/bridlington.net, these relative links are looking relative to https://web106.secure-secure.co.uk/, which is why its not finding anything. If your host is able to provide https://bridlington.net, that would be the best solution.

If not, you will have to output a complete path pages that are being viewed through HTTPS.

Hope this helps
