Search Results String

Hi,

Sorry but I'm still unclear about what you are trying to accomplish.

Are you wanting to use a different results page based on the keyword searched?

Also, where is the 'link' coming from? Is the link part of a record being search or is it from a separate section editor?

Maybe a good approach would be to give a detailed description of how the search would work with examples.

So when searching for X, I see results here etc.

The more details, the easier it will be to understand what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks!
Cheers,

Re: [Damon] Search Results String

I want that if you search Dia (which is a brand that has multiple products) instead of taking you to the search results page, it should take you to that main page for that brand.

Each product has a field in the admin, where we specify the brands home page. It is called 'link'. I want that page to be the search results page.

Each brand has it's own home page with a field name.

Each product can reference that page as well.

I hope I am clear.

Hi,

To clarify what you're trying to do, your search form returns a number of products. You want to take the first product returned that has a value in it's 'link' field and then redirect to that page.

Is that right?

Let us know.
Thanks

Hi,

Okay, in order to do this we'll have to write some custom code and test it. Doing this would probably take about 30 minutes. If you're interested in having this done, please send an email to consulting@interactivetools.com and we can get the process started.

Hope this helps
