Please can someone help.

I need to make an adjustment to the allowed files for upload. Particularly pdf's. Could you please make very clear instructions on how to do so.

I have tried to follow another posting but the changes did not take effect. Go to the data / preset schemea and change customcategory. Reupload and the change should be made available (but its not allowing the changes).

Help![:(]

Hi,

Could you tell me exactly what changes you are trying to make?

Let me know and I'll take a look into this.

Thanks.

Hi,

You should be able to upload a PDF file to an upload field inside CMS Builder. How do they need to create a hyperlink.

Could you provide me an example of the entire process you're trying to accomplish and at what points it isn't working.

Thanks.

Hi Laura,

Here is a video tutorial of how to enable and then add PDF uploads to your site:
http://www.interactivetools.com/about/damon/uploading_pdfs.swf

Notes: this video doesn't include sound and is demoing a installation of CMS Builder internally.

Steps to add PDF uploads:

1. Click on section in CMS Builder. Example: About
2. From the Advanced Commands dropdown at the bottom, choose Admin: Edit Section and click Go
3. In the Section editor for About, click modify for the wysiwyg content field.
4. In Field Editor popup, scroll down to the Input Validation and click "show all" link
5. In Upload Setting - File Extensions allowed field, add pdf and Save. You can also add doc, xls and any other file type you want to allow.
6. You can also increase the "Maximum upload size" if needed.
7. Back on the Section editor for About page, click the "Save Details" button
8. Go back to the About page, in the left navigation
9. Add text or highlight existing text in the content to make into a link.
10. Click the chain icon (insert link)
11. In the popup, click the icon on the right to upload file from your computer. Browse for it then click upload button.
12. Click Insert to add link to that file.
13. Save and you are done.

Hi Laura,

I can't see the note below. Please add it again.

The first step for PDF uploads is to make sure the pdf file type is set to be allowed.

Did you go through all the steps?
