Hi Guys,

I'm wanting to have a "Quantity" field to the "add to Favorites" plugin so I can use this as a shopping cart... any suggestions?
Cheers,

Hi Tim,

Although it is possible to do what your asking, it would take some custom programming.

The table used for favorites can't be altered the same way a regular section can, so the "Quantity" field would have to be added using MySQL. You would also have to alter the plugin to allow it to add these values to the database.

The Favorites plugin has 2 basic functions, Add and Remove. So, if you wanted a customer to be able to update a quantity, you'd have to update a quantity, a new function would have to be written for that.

It would probably be easier to create a new section in your CMS that had fields for the item number, the quantity, and the customer who added it. This would probably be easier to maintain as well.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
