Safe Mode

Just playing around with a site that's been working for ages, and all of a sudden I'm getting a message:
Please disable the 'safe_mode' setting in php.ini. (safe_mode has been removed from the latest PHP versions and it's use is highly discouraged by the authors of PHP - read more)

I've checked witht he hosting company, and they've instructed me on how to turn safe mode off, and when I check through the cms builder admin, it shows as off... but still I get this message.
Any ideas?
As it's Friday night here in Oz, I'll send through the admin / FTP via email - just in case you ask for it :)

I'm not sure, but if it continues try to figure out the steps to reproduce (how long, which browser, etc) and then email me and I can take a look for you.
