custom link on the editor page

Yes, that would be a great use. But, I might use it to return the user to another page.

I have several admin pages containing links to various admin features, eg custom database editors, etc. One of these links goes to cmsb for page content, passing login in the url. I'd like the user to update a single page editor and then have a quick return to the admin page.

Although it may not be an optimal solution, how about setting target="_blank" on your CMSb link and instructing your users to close the new window after they've saved the record?
