Hi,

I'm looking at setting up a website for those involved in indie film.

I'd like to be able to have a search section, where people can search for specific roles.

So they could type in 'Portsmouth' in the search, and select 'directors' from a pull-down, then it would show directors from Portsmouth.

What I would really like though, is a selection of search boxes:

Search Role Country Cost

Is this possible?

Hi.

Thanks for posting!

I can think of a couple ways to get that kind of search going. With CMS Builder, you can do all sorts of searching so there are going to be options for just about everything :).

I am not quite sure what you mean by a selection of search boxes though. Basically, every field you create in CMS Builder can be searched either for keywords, exact matches, min values or max values.

Let me know where I can go into more detail for you :).

Hi Joe

Thanks for the extra details!

That definitely makes more sense. Basically, you are going to have several drop down fields on one search box so visitors can narrow their results all the way down.

You can have as many drop downs as you like on the search box. As long as you have a field in your system for each one to hook into, you'll be fine. Once you get going, I can show you the way to name each field so it searches properly.

Keep me up to date with how you are making out :).

Have a look at the search docs for more details:
http://www.interactivetools.com/docs/cmsbuilder/viewer_search.html

An example search field might be:

<select name="location_match">
<option>UK</option>
<option>USA</option>
<option>Japan</option>
<option>etc</option>
</select>

Hope that helps!
