Hi,

We recently purchased two licenses for CMS builder, which are version 1.22 (purchase date September 9). This appears to not be the latest version - how do we get the latest version, and does this have the new Category feature in it?

Thanks,
Carrie

Hi Carrie,

The latest version of CMS Builder is 1.22 released August 15, 2008.

The "Category Menu" section type is an advanced beta feature at the moment and it still may undergo some changes, so there is only a brief mention of it in the documentation until it gets finalized.

If there's anything we can do to help you get started please let us know.

Kenny

Thanks Kenny.

A couple of other questions:

1. How can you easily replicate a section editor? We have around 40 identical pages (different content), each with around 10 fields we are creating and we are doing each one from scratch.

2. We are using IE version 7 and find that the browser crashes alot. Is this a browser issue, or a known bug, or both?

Regards,

Carrie

Carrie,

Replicating a section is not too hard. After you create a section, it creates a php.ini file in your data/schemas folder. Copy that file to your data/schemaPresets folder. From then on, it will show up in your Presets menu when create a new section. Make sure you set the permissions to this file you moved to the data/schemaPresets folder to 666 or you may get errors when you upgrade later on.

As for your browser crash, I personally haven't experienced any crashed with IE7 and CMS Builder, but I mostly use Firefox and now Google Chrome. Is there something in particular you are doing when it crashes, such as working with a WYSIWYG editor?
