Gif Upload issue

Hi,

I set up the CMS Builder on my pages. Everything is working great except the gif image upload. I browsed for my gif and uploaded it. The upload went fine but the image ended up with a black background instead of a transparent background. The images were small since they were logos. Why would this happen and how can I resolve the problem? Thanks

Nina

Hi Nina,

Thanks for the email!

From what you've mentioned, it sounds like this issue is related to the perl module itself and how it resizes .gif images.

I'm going to talk to Dave about this and see if there's any way we can work around this in CMS Builder and one of us should have an update for you tomorrow.

In the meantime, just let me know if you have any other questions! [:)]

Hi nburkha1,

My first guess is this is happening when the image is getting resized. Is it possible to just disable image resizing on that field? Try unchecking "Resize images larger than:" and "Create image thumbnails:" and let me know if it still happens.

Hope that helps!

Hi Dave,

That resolved the issue here. Now, however I have another issue. When I try to delete an image thru CMS I get an error. See the attachment. I tried deleting them from the backend to get rid of them and even though I deleted them thru ftp they are still showing now in CMS.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Can you re-upload the attachment? I don't think it made it.

Thanks!

That's strange. Does that always happen or just sometimes? And does it happen with images that you've erased through FTP first or all images? What version of CMS Builder are you running?

If you want I can login and take a look. Can you email me CMS and FTP login details to dave@interactivetools.com? (Email only, don't post login details to forum).

Let me know and we'll get it fixed up quick for you.

Hi Dave,

That fixed it!! Thanks. Now I have one more question for you. Are you getting tired of me yet? [blush]

Can a java script be uploaded using the wysywig field when you click on html? I have found that it freezes the system? Any thoughts. Does it need to be called up in an external file. Sometimes I scramble th emaiol using javascript and the cms editor does not like the javascript? Any thoughts?
