Hi

I copy and paste news articles from my news press agency and I keep getting the odd charector appear.. its really annoying

is it " Â "

Hope that appears?

Would it be the charset in the headers?

thanks

It could be, are they appearing in the wysiwyg editor when you paste them in, when you reload the article in the editor, or on the website?

If it's on the website adding a header might fix it. See this post: http://www.interactivetools.com/iforum/P59252#59252

Dave, what to do if it also appears in the wysiwyg editor?

We'd have to track down the cause. Is that happening to you?

Yes it hapened for example when copying (from a Word document):
-door Séphine

it appears in my wysiwyg as: SÂphine

And that happens before you save?

Can you attach a word document (or portion of it) so I can try and reproduce that locally? If I can't reproduce it locally it may be related to the server config so we'll look at that next.

My guess is the server is sending headers that say the charset is something other than what it really is.

If you want me to look into it further you can create a CMS account and email me at dave@interactivetools.com and I can login and take a look.

Otherwise, if it's working now and you don't want to hassle with it anymore that's fine too. Whatever works for you.
