Rackspace Cloud Sites and Create PDF Plug-in

Hello,

I came across this thread while troubleshooting an issue getting the Linux binaries to execute. I may be SOL as it appears the filesystem is mounted as NOEXEC (sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,nosuid, nodev, noexec, relatime)). Any workarounds outside of using a proxy server?

Thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve,

No, unfortunately the only workarounds are running CreatePDF on a proxy server, or asking rackspace to give you access to a filesystem without NOEXEC (which is unlikely).  It's just a common limitation of cloud hosting.  You could see about finding a cheap virtual server on another host just for createPDF.  Another benefit of that is offering PDF creation as a free or paid service for active clients, so you could setup something like pdf.yourcompany.com on a virtual host and offer that only to your clients.
