I am attempting to install CMS Builder and am getting the following error:

---
This program requires MySQL v4.1.7 or newer. This server has v4.0.27 installed.
Please ask your server administrator to install MySQL v4.1.7 or newer.
---

My host is unable to upgrade at this time. They plan on upgrading at some point but not right now.

I *really* do not want to switch servers at this point. Is there a work-around for this? Can I install an older version and then upgrade later? Any ideas?

Hi there,

We really, really wouldn't recommend it. You could theoretically change the error checking to allow it to install, but you'll likely run into issues when CMS Builder tries to do things that it can't on the older database.

Older versions of CMS Builder actually required a higher version of MySQL, so that's not a solution either. To be honest, the fact that your host is running such an old version of MySQL (4.0 was released in 2003, and its lifecycle officially ended in 2006) is a little concerning...
