Order by ASC not working correct, and I deleted the dragSortOrderBy

Hi yea,
When I first created my cms I removed the dragSortOrderBy and have it so as my records designer_name ASC

This all appeard to be fine when I added the first odd hundred records, but now I return to the cms to add new designers only to find the order is no longer working. aka

I go to my adminpage specific for designers which is supposed to be filtered by designer_name asc but it does not show the new entries in correct order. The new names end up in the middle of my list etc.

This was not like this as I said when I entered the first odd hundred records but sadly it is happening now.

Can anyone tell me as to what might be wrong.
