Hello, All -

I have a client who is giving me some grief regarding email notifications sent by CMSB. I have a simple plugin which generates an email update which is sent out a various times (fired by a CronJob). I receive copies of all the emails and they arrived as expected. My, client, on the other hand, says the messages always go straight into his Junk mail folder. He claims there must be a problem with the emails at my end. He asked his IT guy to take a look and he said...

These messages keep going to the junk folders of the recipients.

I’ve looked into the message properties and I think the reason is that they fail authentication with the server as they pretend to be self-sent….

I have no idea if he's right. Either way, are there any steps I can take to try to address the issue?

Hi Perch,

You can google "email deliverability" and check out the details here:
https://support.google.com/mail/answer/81126?hl=en#authentication

Or use a third party mail sending service such as: https://www.sparkpost.com/

The IT guy might be right, the web host might not be configured to allow sending for the domain name your using - which will cause some servers to flags email as spam.  You could also ask them IT guy what they need setup on your end to allow the emails to get through their spam filters.

Hope that helps!
