FEATURE REQUEST - download backup

Just a minor request. The production server gets ahead of my development server and I want to keep them in sync. When I backup the the production server I usually want to immediately download the backup file. It would be handy if we could do that directly in CMSB without having to ftp in.

Also being able to archive the backup file to my local machine would be useful.

If we could also download the uploads folder from CMSB this would also be useful and save switching to FTP.

Hi Jeff

Having the backup file become a download is an interesting idea.  I'll see what the dev team thinks.

In the meantime, I have an idea :).

Are you familiar with the AutoBackup plugin?

There is an option in that which you can set to have the backups emailed to you.  That would help with downloading the file as well as becoming an archive for you.

Does that make sense? Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Hi Jeff,

We've added a "Download" button to the Backup & Restore menu that allows you to download backup files in the next version.

Hope that helps!
