Overview

This plugin lets you add a "Login with Facebook" button to your website so users can instantly signup or login with just a single click.

We've all experienced first-hand the frustration of the traditional user signup process. You fill out a lengthy form, click save a few times and correct any errors or missing fields. Next, you check your email for a password or activation link, and if you can't find the email you either wait to see if it's slow arriving or you check your spam folder. Then you go back to the website and either copy and paste in a password or click an activation link and hope everything worked.

Until recently that's been the only way to do it, and understandably, lots of potential users are lost during this process. Even for returning users, many don't log back in to your website because they can't remember their password or they just can't be bothered.

Facebook Login changes all that. Users have already filled out a signup form to join Facebook, so we can tap into their enormous user database and authentication system to let users signup or join your website with just one click. Everything else stays the same, and you still have complete control over all of your data. Facebook Login just lets users skip over the tedious signup and login process.

If a user doesn't already have an account in your system, a new account is created when they signup with facebook. And if they already have an account, their facebook ID is added to it so they can login quickly. And in both cases, users are always free to login the traditional way by entering their password.

We love the ease and usefulness of this feature so much that we are adding it to all the new sites we build. We've even found ourselves signing up to more sites that we would have otherwise, because Facebook Login just makes it so easy.

If you have a Facebook account, you can try it yourself on our site (no password or checking your email required):
