Google Maps	Can't Post

Instead of the default Yahoo maps, I recommend using the much more powerful Google maps.

In order to do so, change the html code in your _publish_listing.html template from

<a href="http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?Pyt=Tmap&addr=$lfield1_ue$&csz=$lfield3_ue$%2C%20$lfield4_ue$&Get+Map=Get+Map" target="_blank">Click Here to view map of area</a>

to

<a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?q=$lfield1_ue$+$lfield3_ue$+$lfield4_ue$" target="_blank">Area Map from Google</a>

There was some earlier posts regarding the UK version but this will work with US versions. Also, Google maps may be called a beta version but it is rock solid and a much better mapping service than anyone else currently has in or out of beta.

Hi todd,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the discussion forum!

I agree that the Google Maps tool is great. What I like is that it's really good for giving results in a general area, so if you don't want to have the exact address you can just point it to a street name and city for example and you will get an idea of the neighborhood that a listing is in.

Thanks for posting that code, I'm sure that the community will be using it a lot!

UK Link for Google Maps using UK Postcode.

Field55 = the field with the Postcode.
