Program for 10,000 Listings Can't Post
My 2 partners and I are looking for an "Auto Manager" type program that can easily handle up to 10,000 auto listings. I was told that a "MySQL" powered program can do this

BUT....I don't know of any.

Auto Manager is a wonderful program amd exactly what we are looking for except we are planning on many listings in a short time.

If anyone has heard of a "MySQL" based program similar to Auto Manager please let me know.

Hi

I don't think you wil get an 'off the shelf package', most SQL DBs are going to be bespoke.

I dont know how RM/AM would cope with that many listings.

How much is the job worth? A sql DB isnt that hard to write and can easily deal with 10000 items, but if you arent experienced, get someone who is in on the project, it will save you hours of work.

Yes....I know "Auto Manager" can't handle that many listings. I'm looking for a MYSQL based program similar to Auto Manager. Where should I look for someone to set this up for me?....if apparently there are no "off the shelf" programs?

Hi

You need to approach a proffesional web developer who can build a package for you, there will be plenty of people out there who can do it for you

Try to find someone who can show you prior work, and don't just go for the cheapest option, I know from experience I've missed projects on cost and the clients have waited months to get a second rate site up and running.

Good luck finding someone

As you probably already know, The recommended maximum for Realty Manager and Auto Manager is around 2000 listings. This is the limit recomended in order to keep the program running smoothly, but really it depends a lot of things. The speed and capacity of the server is main thing that affects the program, so if you have a good server, the recommended maximum of 2000 might not apply.

There are users who are running above the limit, in fact one user is around 4000 with no problem. We just use that as a guideline for people. In your case however I think that 10,000 records would simply be too many records for Auto Manager to handle at the moment.
