2. New Plugin: Report Builder
Creating reports has never been easier! Our newly-released plugin lets you create custom reports in minutes that can be viewed from within your CMS, or directly downloaded as CSV. Report Builder automates most the work required to add any report to your CMS.
Download report data as CSV and import spreadsheet programs like Excel for further processing. Reports are written in standard MySQL, allowing access to all of the data stored in your CMS. Reports will automatically appear in the menu, and sample data and reports are included. Admin users can create or modify reports, or limit which users have viewing access to the reports section. Create unlimited reports and utilize powerful MySQL features for gathering, aggregating, and sorting your data.
Create unlimited reports for your users.
Harness powerful MySQL features for analysis.
Download any report as CSV for further analysis or presentation.
Learn how to create and publish random quotes on your site using CMS Builder in this step by step tutorial.
This example will use customer quotes but you can use the same steps for virtual any content. So lets get started:
Login to CMS Builder and go to Admin > Section Editors and click the "Add New Editor.." button.
In the Add New Editor window, choose from the preset menu Quotes. Then click the "Create New Menu.." button.
Now you have a "Quotes" section, go to Admin > Section Editors > Quotes. Click "Save Details" when done.
Go to the Quotes menu in the left navigation and add some content that can be used for testing. For quotes, add more than you want to have appear so they can randomly rotate every time a user goes to the published page.
Click the Admin Code Generator from the dropdown on the bottom of the Quotes Editor page.
On the Admin > Code Generator page, choose Quotes form the Select Section dropdown, and for Viewer Type, choose the List Page radio button. Next choose the number of quotes you want to appear for the How Many radio buttons. For this example, I choose two. Choose Random for Record Sorting. And for the last settings uncheck both Show Uploads and Allow Searching. Click the Show Code button.
Copy all the code shown on the Admin > Code Generator > Show Code page and paste into your code editor. You can use Dreamweaver or any other editor as long as you use code view.
Save the file as quotes.php, upload it to your site via FTP and view it in your browser. For example:
Clicking refresh in the browser will randomly rotate through the quotes.
Go back to your code editor and edit the quotes.php file and remove code not needed and style as required. Upload it again to the site via FTP and preview in the browser.
Include the quotes on any page with the publish code and the top required code.
