Hi Team IT,
When will there be a upgrade for cmsb for PHP7.
Thanks for posting!
We will eventually be moving CMS Builder to PHP 7.
There isn't a timeframe for that yet.
That's to bad.
A large provider is forcing every one to php7 our customer dosn't want to switch provider up-side we get to built a new site in wordpress.
down-side no more cmsb. but it is what it is!
Have you tried installing a copy of the latest CMS Builder on your new PHP 7 server?
While PHP 7 will be introducing a bunch of new things, it might be backwards compatible enough to support the latest version of CMS Builder.
Try out a test installation and let me know anything that comes up.
Keep in mind that we may end up having to switch over to support or consulting to troubleshoot any issues.
yes I did but this is the error i get
This program requires the PHP 'mysql' extension.
Please ask your hosting provider (or server administrator) to install missing PHP extension(s).
Witch extension do i need?
PHP 7 removed support for the mysql library which CMSB uses. We're working on upgrading that code.
We usually like to be a little slower to adopt the latest and greatest PHP versions because often there are bugs and issues that need to be worked out. But we're making it a top priority now. Actually we were intending to have it done already so we're behind schedule.
PHP 5.6 is officially supported by the PHP team until the end of 2018: http://php.net/supported-versions.php Ideally your host would support that.
But if they're forcing PHP 7 on you should could look at some of these workaround to re-enable the mysql library (or ask your host to do it so they're not causing you to have to do more work):
