Import Listings with Images

By gversion - November 15, 2016

Hello,

I am trying to import 300+ eBay listings with their photos.

When I run the CSV Import plugin, it seems to skip the "uploads" field so I can't specify that the photos are on eBay. Maybe this is because cmsBuilder does not handle uploads stored on a 3rd party website (I think I read this somewhere...).

If I need to download all the images from eBay and then manually FTP them into the uploads directory this will be fine but I'm still not sure how to link the imported listings to their corresponding images in the uploads directory.

Can someone please advise me on how best to import these listings and have their eBay images also either imported to the uploads directory or linked to via a URL?

Thanks for the support guys!

Regards,

Greg

Hi Greg

Thanks for posting.

The most important thing here is that the CSV you get from eBay needs to have some reference to the images.

This could be a field or fields in the CSV that have the image file names in them.

Another option is the CSV has full URL paths to where the images live.

It could also be that the images themselves are named in a way that connects them back to the listing.

From there, you'll need to write a custom script that imports the images into CMS Builder.  We can help at this step via consulting if you like.

The first step, in either case, is to figure out what kind of data you have in the CSV for the images.

Let me know what you find out.
