Send newsletters and confirmation mail in plain text

By gkornbluth - September 6, 2015

Hi Hiroko,

I routinely change WYSIWYG fields to text boxes, because the WYSIWYG fields sometimes cause more trouble for me then the flexibility they afford.

That won't change the mail format to plain text, but it probably won't hurt.

That said, I found this article that looked interesting and may help.

http://www.codingforums.com/post-a-php-snippet/142893-html-text-e-mail-made-simple.html

I personally don't know a lot about the intricacies of email and mobile devices, but a Google search for: problems clicking on links on mobile devices, returns a lot of information.

Please post your solution so we can all learn from it.

Good luck,

Hi hiroko,

Unfortunately there isn't a way you can send messages in plain text, they have to be sent in HTML with the newsletter builder plugin.

You can change the subscription email that gets to the user in the newsletter builder settings. Perhaps you could replace the link text with a image or style the link to make it larger, as this would be easier to press on a mobile device.

Cheers,

Greg
