Hi snow2cold,

Thanks for the post!

I'm not actually sure what may be happening here, what you may want to do is fill out a support request with your ftp details. This way we'll be able to connect with your server and take a closer look at what's happening here. :)

You can fill out a support request here:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

Does this help? I look forward to hearing back from you soon!

FTP support isn't an option for us, but we would be greatful for any other assistance you can provide.

I asked the person who installed the product to try and figure out what the problem is.

This is what he came up with:

The problem is in the fact that, when we try to create a new category,
your cgi script is sending in an insert statement like this:

INSERT INTO am2_category ( createdTime, createdByUserNum, lastUpdatedTime
, lastUpdatedByUserNum, name, parentNum, image, depth, globalOrder, siblingOrder
, lineage, type, locked, filename, needsPublish, needsPublishForArticleLists, hideOnSearchForm )
VALUES ( '1174563918', '1', '1174563918', '1', 'Category Name', '
0', '', '', '', '999999999', '', 'regular', '0', 'catetegory_filename', '', '', '0'
);

when it should be like this (notice filled in values for depth, globalOrder,
needPublish and needsPublishForArticleLists)

INSERT INTO am2_category ( createdTime, createdByUserNum, lastUpdatedTime
, lastUpdatedByUserNum, name, parentNum, image, depth, globalOrder, siblingOrder
, lineage, type, locked, filename, needsPublish, needsPublishForArticleLists, hideOnSearchForm )
VALUES ( '1174563918', '1', '1174563918', '1', 'Category Name', '
0', '', '0', '9', '999999999', '', 'regular', '0', 'catetegory_filename', '0', '0', '0'
);

We figured this out by logging the queries in mysql.

When we type the second insert statement in the mysql command line client, it works,
but the first one doesn't.

The strange thing is that we were able to create some categories, before we started seeing this problem.
We can still do other things and edit categories, but not create new ones.

By the way we're using:
Windows Server 2003
IIS 6.0
ActiveState Perl 5.8.6
mysql 5.0.27-community-nt
DBI 1.54
DBD::mysql 3.0002

Do you know if there are any known bugs/issues with any of these version? Or does your
software work fine with this combination?

Thank you

Hi there!

Even if you're not able to give us FTP access, would you be able to fill out the support request form? You can fill this in here:

https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi

Since this is a rather odd situation, I think it'll be a little easier to take it up via email. :)

Details about where your software is installed and a username & password to access the admin section would be helpful as well.

Thanks! I look forward to helping you. :)
Donna

The problem is now resolved - we tried a newer version of Article Manager (2.12) and an older version of MySQL (4.1.13) and were able to make things work.

Thank you.
