Links to the detail article

I am doing a news list page and each list item goes to a detail page, but on some list items my client doesn't want a detail story to follow, how do I hide the link or not have the link if a detail page isn't there to follow on to.

Hi,
There are a couple of easy ways that I can think of that might work but but I don't know exactly how your pages are set up.
You could surround the link code with an if statement that looks for either no content in a particular field or for a check (value=1) in a check box field that says "do not show if this box is checked"
