Hi, there.

Is it possible to set up a user account in CMS Builder so that the user can edit an article, but it won't go live until it has been approved by an admin user? i.e. set up a limited access account.

Thanks!

Nigel,

You can do that by creating a checkbox field called "hidden" that is "checked" by default and "admin only".

Then regular users won't see the field and only admins will be able to toggle the hidden status.

Hope that helps!

Hi J,

Yes, over time we do intend to add those features bit by bit. The trick is figuring out a simple way to do it that works with everything else.

Hi, Dave.

Is there any way that the CMS can notify the admin user that a non-admin user has updated an entry and that it needs to be checked/allowed?

Thanks,

No, not unless you sorted by hidden. And then you could see all the new (hidden) records at the top of the list. And once a record has been made live it won't be automatically hidden when a user edits it again.

What you could do is change the owner of the record (to admin) once the admin unhides it so the user could no longer edit it (since they can only see records they created).

Hope that helps!
