Some people getting the following error message when they submit a form on a website I built.

Mail Error: No messages were sent, check mail server settings! Email delivery failed for: johndoe@example.com

This issue effects some people, but not all. I have tested the form repeatedly, on multiple devices and browsers. However, I am not able to reproduce the error message.

I am using CMSB V3.55 to power the website, and under "Email Settings" I have the following assigned:

How to send mail Use PHP's built-in mail() function (default)

So I'm stumped on what can be causing this.

Anyone have any suggestions to trouble shoot this?

Thanks, Mikey

Hi Mikey,

Do you have the email address for any of the failed messages?  And does it fail consistently with the same address?  Or fail intermittently?

The first step would be to get some more information on how to reproduce the issue.  And perhaps add some logging so we can figure out when it's happening.

It's likely an issue with the configuration of the server and/or mail server.

Let me know some more details and we'll try to help.  Thanks!
