Hi. I'm interested in opinions from Interactive Tools and any forum visitor who has used the PHP extension Zend Opcache.

While upgrading to PHP 7.10, It was suggested by one of my server techs that I consider enabling the PHP extension Zend Opcache to increase server performance when PHP pages are loaded and compiled. They cautioned that not all sites are compatible with Zend Opcache and that I might want to consult with a developer before enabling it... so here I am.

After reading the following forum post, I have reservations about how CMS Builder (v3.09) might work in conjunction: https://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum-posts.php?postNum=2239860#post2239860 .

Does anyone have a final determination on whether the extension is advisable for use with CMS Builder?

I look forward to any comments or suggestions.

Hi Deborah,

We have some code in CMSB already to work with/around opcache.  But it is a fairly common extension, so if you want to try it out and you run into any problems we can help you debug/resolve it as part of free support.  We want to make sure CMSB is fully compatible with these features.

In the worst case, if it had a problem you could just have the tech turn it off again.
