Error with Form and permalink

Hi

I have created a form using the form generator.

Everything works fine when the page is accessed via www.domainname.co.uk/file.php but when accessed via www.domainname.co.uk/permalink the following error displays: Modify record - access not permitted!

When creating the form I checked the 'Allow adding records' option. It's just a Contact Us form, so I don't think I need to check the 'Allow editing existing records (advanced feature)' option – but have I misunderstood this function? The error suggests to me that maybe I have.

Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

By default, a permalink should not trigger the "Modify record" check, but there are a few situations which could cause that message to pop up.

Could you let me know how you've set up the permalink? And if you are sending along any URL parameters when you try to view it? (e.g. "?num=")

Thanks,

Hi Daniel

Thanks for your reply, it got me on the right track. I had set it up incorrectly.

I was using a text field in the record to set a permalink dynamically, when I should have been setting it manually in the permalink DB

Cheers
