Hi All,

Google has stopped supporting the default spellcheck service that TinyMCE was using: http://www.tinymce.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=106391

We're going to fix this for the next CMSB release, but if you need a fix right away, just follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to this folder of your CMS install: /cmsAdmin/3rdParty/tiny_mce/plugins/spellchecker/classes/
  2. Rename GoogleSpell.php to GoogleSpell.php.old
  3. Download the attached file and upload it as GoogleSpell.php (Make sure to have uppercase G and S).

Let me know any questions, thanks!

Dave, the fix seems to work well for CMSB v.2.53. I don't know how it will work with earlier versions, because my testing with v.2.10 shows flagging (underlined in red, but no suggestions provided) for correclty-spelled words used in correct context. Examples of words flagged in my v.2.10 test:

  • prevention
  • then
  • advise

I'm going to install this for all CMSB client sites unitl there's a new solution. I'm also working on upgrading more sites now, so timing is good for this fix and it appears to work for v.2.53.

Thanks again!
