We develop all our software to work with virtually every single webserver environment on Earth (UNIX (every flavour), Windows NT/2000, and more). We're confident you can run the software on your website, but if you want to make sure, here are the system requirements:
- Website - The software is installed on the actual computer that hosts your website, which can be a dedicated server, shared server
or virtual server. You can access the software from any PC using a web browser.
- PHP 4.3.0+ - Your web server must have PHP 4.3.0 or better (without 'safe_mode' on). Your network administrator can download the latest version of PHP from http://www.php.net/. PHP is extremely common though, and installed on virtually every webserver on Earth.
- mysql PHP extension - Standard on almost all hosts, but your host can enable it if it is not running.
- gd PHP extension - Comes standard with PHP, so if it is not running just get your host to enable the module.
- MySQL 4.1.7+ - Your web server must have MySQL 4.1.7 or better.
- Write Access - You must be able to make files and directories writable on your web server. If the software doesn't have write access it won't be able to update its data files.
Sample Email for asking your host if they support these features:
Hello Web Host!
I'm interested in running some web software from interactivetools.com and I was wondering if
you support the following features:
- PHP v4.3+ (without 'safe_mode' on)
- PHP Extension: mysql
- PHP Extension: gd
- MySQL v4.1.7+
- File Write Access (the script needs to update files)
Can you let me know?
Thanks!
