How to increase your revenue with plugins!

It's our 100th newsletter... and in celebration, we're offering a huge 50% savings on any 5-pack purchase of CMS Builder! Place your order before June 17th and save a whopping $500 off the regular price of CMS Builder!

There's no obligation to use these licenses right away -- have a few projects not quite ready to go? Know you'll need more licenses in the future? They don't expire, you can save money by buying now while it's on sale and be ready to go the second your clients call.

If you would like to place an order or have any questions, give us a call (toll free 1-800-752-0455), send an email, or even post in the forum. We're always here to help you out! :)

2. CMS Builder: Version 2.04
New Plugin: Website Favorites

Our developers have been hard at work making CMS Builder even better. We've added pseudo-fields to existing fields to give them a bit more flexibility in how you use them -- which means less hard coding, and more functionality! Here's a brief list of additions:

  • Date fields now have a :unixtime pseudo-field, which is useful for passing to date(). Example: $record['startdate:unixtime']
  • Checkboxes now have :text, which displays the checked or unchecked text you've set up in your section editor. Example: $record['hidden:text']
  • Single-value list fields have a new :label pseudo-field which makes it easy to display the label of the selected option. Example: $record['category:label']
  • Multi-value list fields have two new pseudo-fields -- :values and :labels, which provide an array of either the values or labels of selected options. Example: $record['categories:labels']

For a full list of changes, visit the CMS Builder changelog. CMS Builder users can upgrade by donation here.

3. Updated Plugin: CSV Export 1.03
Another New Plugin: Website Saved Searches

We've also updated our CSV Export plugin to 1.03. This supports the new pseudo-fields in CMS Builder 2.04... and more!

Purchase the CSV Export plugin in our add-on store. If you've already purchased the CSV Export, log into the add-on store here to get instant access to the latest version.

4. Japanese distributor of CMS Builder
Updated Plugin: Website Membership

We're proud to announce our new Japanese distributor of CMS Builder. While we offer CMS Builder in English, Spanish, French, Hebrew, and Portuguese, a bit more goes into creating and maintaining a Japanese version and we're happy to let Japanese experts take care of that. Are you in Japan, and need a Japanese version of CMS Builder? Pick up a copy of CMS Factory 4 today!

5. New Programmer: Meet Carl Crowder!
CMS Builder 2.03 Beta Video

Carl escaped his native Britain but couldn't go to a country that didn't spell colour with a 'u', so is now in Vancouver exploring the surroundings and being confused by raccoons. He is still searching for an equivalent to Ribena. Feel free to welcome him to interactivetools.com -- and Canada -- at carl@interactivetools.com.

  • iPhone 4: I don't know about you, but as soon as the iPhone 4 is available in Canada, I'll be picking one up. Maybe then the rest of the folks here at interactivetools will envy ME, instead of the years of resentment I'd been fostering toward all of THEIR beautiful iPhones... or maybe this will teach me not to get locked into a 3 year cell phone contract. But soon, I will be the sad under-teched geek no more. Are you as excited as I am?
It's being released in the US, France, Germany, the UK and Japan on June 24th. Um... Canada? Hello? Canada? Aw...

  • Four Techniques for Combining Fonts: Are you as much of a typography geek as I am? Ok, I admit it, I have the creative ability approximately on par with a particularly near sighted mole (I'll stick with the back end of the site, you handle the front...), but that doesn't stop me from swooning over the great ideas that other wonderful designers come up with. Check out this article on combining fonts, and never darken your door with Comic Sans again.

  • Create Beautiful CSS3 Typography: If you liked that last article as much as I did, you might want some ideas on how to actually use it. Check out this article for how to create beautiful CSS3 typography.

  • And finally... just how fast is Google Chrome? Is it as fast as lightning? How about a potato?
