4. World Record Breaking Firefox 3 Release
|
On June 17th Firefox 3 was launched under the banner of Download Day. The Firefox Communities mission was to set a Guiness World Record for most software downloaded in 24 hours, and with 8 million downloads it looks like they may have broken the record (the people at Guinness still have to review it).
With more than 15,000 improvements, Firefox 3 is faster, safer and smarter than before. It includes new features like one-click bookmarking and a smart location bar. It also has security features to protect against phishing and malware, and will improve your productivity with a built-in spell checker, session restore, and zoom feature.
There are also now more than 5,000 add-ons available, allowing you to customize it just the way you like it.
