3. Coach's Corner with Mike Briggs - Add Google AdSense to Article Manager
Coach's Corner with Mike Briggs - Add Google AdSense to Article Manager Hi Everyone! It's that time of the month again where I'll put you to work with another tutorial :) This month my tutorial goes over the steps to add Google AdSense to your Article Manager content. We've actually got a full page with details about Google AdSense that you may want to take a look at.

With proper placement and relevant ads AdSense can be a great way to make money on your site, and it works really well with Article Manager's templates.

As always, this is something we can go ahead with through our Priority Consulting service. If this is something you would like me to set up for you just let me know and we can go over your requirements together.

4. The Ross Report - How to Best Reach Support
The Ross Report - How to Best Reach Support Hi Everyone!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner so I thought I would share the love with this Ross Report. :) Support love that is. I am going to drop you a few tips and tricks for getting The Best Support possible out of us.

Let me say that I totally understand that deadlines are always looming and that your clients all want things to be done sometime between yesterday and the day before. Hopefully these tips will really help you get a quick turn around on support issues. :).

First, in regards to phoning in to see if we had a chance to read over your email, please give us a call, but not right away. We are quick, but not that quick. :) We’ll need some time to read your email, do the research, and put together a solution for you. While the response won’t be immediate, our goal is to get back to you on the same day you sent your email. If you don’t hear from us by the end of the day then please feel free to give us a quick call to see what’s going on.

Next, I have a tip on how to get your installation done super fast. If you already know you want us to do the install for you, don’t wait for the email that includes your Product ID, just head on over to the installation request form and fill it out. You’ll of course not have a Product ID yet, but that’s okay. All you need to do is fill out "I just ordered" into the Product ID field and that’s it. This gets you onto the work queue right away!

Finally, the phones. Each of us on the support team (Cliff, Mike and myself) have our very own extensions now. :) While that gives you convenient direct access to us, we aren’t always in the office or at our desk so you may end up with our answering machines. The rule of thumb here is going to be that if you leave a message on our personal line and we don’t get back to you within 30 minutes, we are probably out of the office. What you’ll want to do is call the main support line (1-800-752-0455) as there is always someone available to answer your call or return any messages, seven days a week. This way, you are not waiting around until we get back.

There, how does that all sound? I have tried testing these methods out for the last little while and everyone has been amazed at how much faster things are. The same great service, just quicker! That sounds great to me. :) I look forward to hearing from all of you.
5. Microsoft Releases Internet Explorer 7 - Beta 2 Preview
Microsoft Releases Internet Explorer 7 - Beta 2 Preview Microsoft recently released a preview beta of their new next generation web browser, Internet Explorer 7. Being the curious cat that I am, I went and downloaded it right away. It's a beta so I've come across a few minor glitches, but I'm very impressed.

IE 6 is starting to look a bit dated compared to the popular Mozilla Firefox and all of its great features, not to mention Mozilla reputation for security and stability. In fact, Firefox was picking up so much steam that Microsoft lost a chunk of their once impenetrable dominance in the browser market. Maybe Microsoft got a bit worried, I really don't know, but it looks like they're hungry again.

IE 7 is packed full with awesome features, I'm dead serious. There's too much to list to tell you everything, but it now has tabbed browsing like Firefox (with a very nifty "Quick Tabs" feature), a built-in RSS reader, and an easy-to-use add-ons manager (which I actually prefer to Firefox's extensions manager). Don't like your Google Toolbar? Temporarily disable it. Want to get it back later, just re-enable it. There's no need to install/uninstall your add-ons.

The interface is extremely intuitive, it really seems like Microsoft put some extra time and care into this. I customized my toolbar so I don't see the classic menu (you know, "File", "Edit", "View", etc). Instead, I can easily access the most important features by just clicking a few icons. Was this designed just for me or does Microsoft know how the majority of their users make use of their browser features? :)

It's easier to use than ever, whether you're deleting your browser history, adding favourites or RSS feeds (it includes that cool new universal RSS icon), or even searching (whether Google, MSN, Yahoo!, or whatever search engine you like best). It's very sleek, and you can access and enable toolbars and features on the fly. What's best about this, the top of my browser is no longer five rows thick with loads of toolbars. That means more screen for website viewing!

You can learn more and download IE 7 Beta 2 Preview.
Keep in mind this is a beta, so it's not entirely stable just yet, and it WILL overwrite your IE 6 installation. So unless you're willing to take the good with the bad I wouldn't recommend installing this just yet. :)
6. Tips For Google Adsense
Three Tips For Google Adsense I came across a great thread on Webmaster World the other day when looking for Google AdSense tips. The thread is enormous, packed with tons of information provided by webmasters who share their best tips for improving AdSense revenue. This kind of stuff always piques my interest, so I thought it would be great to share it with you.

Here are some of the tips I found most useful.

1. Use Google's Heat Map. The heat map will give you a good idea of where to place your ad blocks so you get the best click through rate.
Check out the Google AdSense Heat Map!
2. Be willing to test while using different channels for ad blocks. It's always a good idea to place ad blocks (using a different channel for each) in various sections of your site and analyze which area on your page produces the best revenue.

Even our previous marketing guru Fraser Cain gets in on the action, providing some very useful tips! Fraser currently runs his own site, universetoday.com, using Article Manager while earning revenue through Google AdSense.
