rss feed query Can't Post

I've followed the instructions in the Listings Manager tutorial to try and get an rss feed working. The feed seems to be updating and it validates OK so I must have done something right. However, when I run http://www.mellowneedlecrafts.co.uk/cgi-bin/products/exec/publishcron.cgi?page=1 in my browser nothing happens. Am I doing something daft?

Contents of publishcron.ini

Code

Code

#--------Search URL - replace with the full URL to your Article Manager search engine)

search_url = http://www.mellowneedlecrafts.co.uk/cgi-bin/products/exec/search.cgi

#--------Search Queries

page1 = /home/mellowneeduk/public_html/cgi-bin/products/listings/rss.xml
query1 = search=1&perpage=30&template=rss_template.xml

#--------Uncomment (remove the starting #) from these queries to add additional queries.

#page2 =
#query2 =

#page3 =
#query3 =

publishcron.cgi and publishcron.ini are in the following directory:
http://www.mellowneedlecrafts.co.uk/cgi-bin/products/exec/

publishcron.cgi = chmod 755

publishcron.ini = chmod 766

The listings directory is located at:
http://www.mellowneedlecrafts.co.uk/cgi-bin/products/listings

The rss.xml file is also in the listings directory. The rss_template.xml file is in the templates/_generic directory.

In the Listings Manager setup the program path is:
/home/mellowneeduk/public_html/cgi-bin/products/exec

Did I put the correct path into the publishcron.ini file or have I made an error somewhere else?

Re: [annie] rss feed query [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Annie,

Thanks for your post. I took a look at the link to your Publishcron, and it appears to be working as expected -- are you still having trouble? I was able to see your RSS feed here:

http://www.mellowneedlecrafts.co.uk/cgi-bin/products/listings/rss.xml

...so it looks like it's working as expected. Let me know if you're still having trouble. :)

Re: [Donna] rss feed query [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Donna,

I was under the impression that the following URL would enable me to check everything and manually update the feed if I delete an entry. However, nothing appears in the browser when I go to the URL'

http://www.mellowneedlecrafts.co.uk/cgi-bin/products/exec/publishcron.cgi?page=1

Quoting the instructions..."To test that publishcron is working and see how the output looks, enter the URL to publishcron in a web browser and add ?page=1 to the end. This will also publish any queries in the INI file.
http://yoursite.com/cgi-bin/listman/exec/publishcron.cgi?page=1"

Hi Annie,

Can you let me know what browser you use when you view that? When I go to the page, I am seeing the RSS output. Do you see anything on the page, or is it totally blank?

Hi Donna,

I was using Internet Explorer 6.0 on Windows XP and the page wouldn't change - nothing would happen at all. However, I also have Firefox so I tried with that and the following appeared. Is this what I should be seeing?

Hi Annie.

Thanks for the update!

That’s definitely what you should be seeing, so it looks like things are working nicely in FireFox. I am not actually quite sure why it isn’t showing up properly in IE though but I am also getting the same thing happening here so I would need to have a closer look.

Would you mind sending me a support request with some FTP details so I can get in there and do some testing?

I look forward to hearing from you Smile.
