Add User Signup Script - adduser.dat.cgi

There is another thread concerning this issue, but it is getting pretty long (and old) so I decided to start a new one. The script is from "dedbob" and several users have been using it or trying to use it. I just installed this adduser.dat.cgi script (Realty Manager) and it runs, and even sends a confirm email to me and to the new user with username and password. However, the auto login fails. Plus there is no new user added. The user.dat.cgi file remains unchanged, so it looks like the script isn't passing the new user data at all. I tried changing the permissions on that file to no avail. I have checked all the paths in the comment section of the script, and they all appear correct. So here I am asking for help! Does anyone know how to make it write in a new user? I noticed in the old thread that someone else had this exact same problem, but no responses were posted. It's a great feature to have if it would work! Also, could Ross or Donna or someone on staff send me your supported version of an add user script so I could give that one a try? I understand it is a little simpler and might be a good fallback position. Thanks much.
