split agents and listings onto separate websites

have a client who wants to split their agents and listings onto two separate websites. Their company offers many services and has each one separated into subdomains. For instance: loans.company.com and realestate.company.com. They want they list of agents and homepages to appear under company.com while their listings appear under realestate.company.com. Any suggestions? I already tried to move the listings templates to the folder used for realestate.company.com and changing the settings in RM but the listings just appear under the root folder as company.com/realestate/listman/etc... Here is how their folders are currently placed in their hosting account: root folder - website 1 - website 2 - website 3 (company.com) - main company files - listman folder - loans folder - loan service company files - real estate folder - real estate company files - notary folder - notary specific comapny files - etc. The DNS for company.com points to the website 3 folder in the root directory with subdomains pointing at inner folders such as realestate.company.com pointing at root/website3/realestatefolder. I could sure use some help as I have't tried splitting up the results with RM before.

Hi cclinton, Thanks for the post! Your best bet here will to do the following: - Install Realty Manager in one location, and be sure it is running correctly inside this one location. - Strip down the template files to the absolute bare minimium. - Create the HTML design for both websites, when creating these layouts don't worry about adding Realty Manager details. - On your HTML design for each website use SSI's (Server Side Includes), to pull in the various Listings Manager created section of your website. :) Does this sound like a possibility that may work for you? If you would like more details on how this would all be set-up let us know and we'll be happy to guide you along. Cheers, Chet Woodside - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Chet, That sounds easy and like it may work fine when searching through listings. When on Domain A I can have the list of agents pop up. On Domain B using php includes I should be able to get the listings to show up. Looking at how the code is written I fear the links that co-mingle them. In other words, when a viewer clicks on a link for the agent's listings on the agent page in Domain A, won't this force a page with the listing to appear under Domain A instead of Domain B?

Hi there, The domains will all point to the one that Realty Manager is actually installed on. However, you can also use different templates so that it has the look & feel of whatever site you want it to look like. Would that work for you? Donna
