setup options question on meta generator

Just installed rm on linux and running through basic menus.
There is an item under setup options for a supersuser that I didn't see
info about under help.
Here is the option:
Add meta generator tag and timestamp to pages? Choice either yes or no
What is this actually saying? Meta tags in html, last modified on X date on page?
What meta tags are generated by this and where does this affect visible pages?
Also, nice touch on making it so easy to configure the logoff url.

This options adds the following tags to the pages
<!-- Last Updated Sep 17th, 2002 - 23:54 with Realty Manager by interactivetools.com -->
<meta name="generator" content="Article Manager, http://www.interactivetools.com">
These tags do not affect the display of the pages in any way.
