Hi Kalish...welcome! With the new search template feature you can spawn a new window from the listing page with whatever info you have on the listing page. For example I did a "Print This Page" that only pulls out the essential information and puts in a new page for easy printing. Also I was able to do a "Contact this dealer pop up form that pulls out the vehicle info AND the dealers email address, puts in a nice little form for sending. for a good "how to" to get started try here.. http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=5706 To do the form go here: http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/forum.cgi?post=5759 The possibilities are wide open now, all we have to do is come up with needed and practical uses for this new feature. Thanks Joey for your respond, nice site!!! let me go deep into my last questions. I was thinking if i can do the following, with the new search template feature in Realty M. Scenario: my client not only have homes categories, instead, the site is designed to support multiples categories. For navigation purpouses, place a general menu that links to each individual category, ( i think is here where i can use the search template, i´m right?). I think somebody ask for the same, on others posts, but maybe this can be easy now, with 2.28 RM version. I´ll appreciate any input.

Yes, if I am correct on your problem you can do this... Take for instance on my site on the main page you see categories of vehicles... Sports, Convertible, SUV , etc. If you right click on of the links and choose properties you will see the address is pointing to that category for the search engine....Highlight this whole address then put it in notepad for later editing....to copy and paste. Next ADD your categories that you want to your "LISTING FIELDS" Like Brick Homes, Wood Homes, or whatever in the auto manager control panel (Login to auto manager, go to setup options, choose "setup Listing Fields") Once this is done each listing must choose a category when entering the information... Then make your Actual LINKS by using mine and Insert your domain etc. and change the categories to what you made when you set up the listing fields Like Brick Homes, Wood Home, Plastic Homes, Dirt Homes, etc.... Note be sure to check your path to the search.cgi....mine is not in my CGI-BIN yours may be...edit this accordingly. Hope this helps if not post back with how far you got and I'll help you through it. Hi Joey, much appreciated, i was playing around with your instructions, and have the following comments: i think is a must, to have the lfield# with _keyword ending, like lfield#_keyword right? http://www.xyz.com/cgi-bin/rm/exec/search.cgi?search=1&lfield1_keyword=Brick Home&template=_casas_result.html i know i can use a search.cgi individual template for each general category listing, but it is possible to have a similar template to dynamically generate a particular kind of home with particular fields. The problem i have here, is regarding field type. Not all the field are used to all kind of homes. I know a javascript solution exists around here for this, something like, if field# != ''; then document.write('lfield#'); Any similar experiences? as always, thnxs!! in advance...

Hi Kalish, I thought I'd just say hi and offer a few remarks :-) If I understand your requirements, I'd stay away from javascript for the moment. With version 2.28's new custom template capabilities, you can create a custom template for EACH of your categories. In each of these templates, you could only place references to those database fields which were relevant to that category. So, in effect, whenever your site visitor clicks on a particular category, they'd only see whatever information YOU allowed. I hope this is clear! Post me back if I misunderstood anything, or if you have further questions :-) Ben interactivetools.com
