realty manager search templates Can't Post

OK, I have a question about the new feature in Realty Manager and whether it will work for what I am trying to accomplish. I have read the documentation and am still a little confused. I am managing a multi-listing site with this and I want 3 separate templates -- residential, commercial, and agricultural. I want to be able to use only one search query and pull the 3 different listing and search results from it. I have a dropdown that has a category Type and when commercial is chosen I would like the search to list all commercial properties in a different layout than if they chose residential. This seems possible but I can't seem to figure out the way to make it work without having 3 separate search queries. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Hi -

I see your problem. The way it currently works is that you can only specify one template per form, by including a hidden field telling the search.cgi script which one to use. In order to have a template per dropdown, you'd have to somehow dynamically write that value into the form at submission time... hmmm...

And having three forms couldn't work in your case? :-)

It's just possible this might be possible with JavaScript, but I wouldn't swear on it. If you like I could spend a little time to give it a go. The drawback is that even if the JavaScript were to work, it would only work for those people with JavaScript-enabled browsers.

I can make it work with 3 search forms, but if the software had support for the other way I wanted to use that. Just wanted to verify that 3 forms was the only way. thanks for your help.
