Is it possible to have a search for keywords that looks in all fields? Thank you....still waiting patiently for that Beta to end for RM.

I am looking to do something somewhat similar. I am looking to have the ability for a user to search multiple towns. I was thinking that using checkboxes would do the trick, but sometimes I get 0 listings found. Here is the code I used. <table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Ayer </font></td> <td> <input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Ayer" > </td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Dunstable</font></td> <td> <input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Dunstable" > </td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Groton </font></td> <td> <input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Groton" > </td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Littleton</font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Littleton" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Lunenburg </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Lunenburg" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Pepperell </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Pepperell" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Shirley </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Shirley" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Townsend </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Townsend" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Tynsboro </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield23_keyword" value="Yes" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> Westford </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="Westford" ></td> </tr> <tr> <td><font size=2 face="arial"> All Towns </font></td> <td><input type=checkbox name="lfield3_keyword" value="" ></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table>

Hey guys, Increasing the functionality of the search engine is certainly something we're planning to do - and boolean "OR" searching like you both need is one of the bigger things. But as is, I'm afraid it's just not possible. Concerning the Beta release, everyone HAS been really patient! The scheduled end-date for the Beta is on the 15th, and we should be releasing the final version once we fix up any bugs that arose. Ben interactivetools.com

it has been about 3 years since this post. has any progress been made on being able to pull a search with arbitrary multiple items from a given field... such as an and or an or statement?

Hi dmonsour, Thanks for the post :) at the moment there is no set timeline for changes to Listings Manager we are currently focusing all our development time into finishing Article Manager 2. The good new is that the upgrades being made to Article Manager 2 will make upgrading Listings Manager and our other software easier and hopefully quicker. Four years after the original post and I have to ask.... Can we still not search on multiple keywords? Scenario: I have a listing "Some Company Name" I search on "Some" - the listing comes up I search on "Company" - the listing comes up I search on "Name" - the listing comes up I search on "Some Company" or even the exact listing name of "Some Company Name"- No results found. How frustrating is that to have the exact name you are looking for and the results are still "Not Found". Any good news like "upgrade your program and the search will work now"? :-) Thanks for all your hard work - but don't forget the little details! __________________________________ InternetOne.net

Hi Cathy, Thanks for posting. I just double-checked the searching you described on a local demo here, and everything worked on my end. I think you should be able to do this kind of searching in version 2.52 of the software now - you might want to try out an online demo of the software here to test it out: http://www.interactivetools.com/cgi/go.cgi?http://demo1.interactivetools.com/setup.cgi?demo=listman_demo_realty Don't hesitate to contact us! ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
