adding items for drop down Can't Post

At the suggestion of the tech support I am using RM for a client who sells Alpacas. We are modifying the listing page to suit the features of the animals. I'm not having any trouble except how do I change the fields for what shows up in the drop down? I don't see where that part is.

Also, wondering, is it possible or does it do this to have a field not show up if it's not filled in on the listing form? Don't suppose there's a spell check too in there? Blush

Hi irishis,

Let me show you with an example. Say you want to create this list of colours:
red
green
blue

The fieldname in setup is simply: Colour (,red, green, blue)

Note that there is a comma first. This allows a dropdown which is blank.

As for your second question, if a field does not contain a value, the placeholder is replaced with nothing.

As for spell checking, I'm afraid not. What you can do is use another text editor to do the spell checking, then copy & paste the corrected text into RM.

But where is the file I modify with the drop down choices. I was using the online set up for the listings and I can choose to make the file a drop down but where do I input the choices available on that dropdown? Crazy

In Setup Options, on the General tab, you put it right into the fieldname field. Just make sure that Enabled checkbox for that field has a checkmark in it :)

*blushing* I should have paid more attention to what was right below it when I was modifying since there were sample drop downs with the answer right there! Big old DAH to me. Thank you so much for your patience!
