I was wondering about search engine status. The search engines seem to be a law unto themselves, but i assume the fact that you can link to the full listings page (which i have done from my flash sniffer page as well as the search page) should let the SE see the entire site contents. I assume this is far more important to the search engine than a DB driven system as it is real valid html content, all indexable and searchable Do you think this will help boost Realty Manager based sites compared to DB driven sites? In which case this must be a huge bonus to clients Or is it all a lost cause with SE, i dont want to mention any names but the rankings just seem random! Lee ps am i paranoid or is it best not to discuss certain se's openly for fear of blocking!? __ Lee Shields Apogee Technology John R Hornsby Adelante Properties Villassist Paul Withey Estate Agents

Hi Lee, Hah! I think you're being paranoid (at least I hope you're being paranoid...! ;-) Yes, the main listings page is static, and as such, search engines can index them. This would almost certainly be an advantage over purely database driven sites which rely solely on dynamically generated content. Precisely how much of an advantage remains to be seen - and would no doubt depend on the search engine doing the indexing. Different search engine's have different ways of cateloguing website information. But I know what you mean about sometimes search results seeming totally random - these days I just rely on Google. (Most consistent, most accurate, etc. etc.) Also, give it time - how recently was your site put up? It may take a while for your site to be properly catelogued and receive an appropriate rank.
