Photo's Not Visable

Hi, When I upload photo's, I can't see them. If I go into the server and CHMOD the file to be Read available, it shows the photo, but it is not becoming readable just upon upload. The directory for the images is 755. Any Ideas? Thank you. Tyler Watkins Myrtle Beach, SC

Hi Tyler, Thanks for posting. It sounds like newly-created files on your server aren't being given the correct permissions. To change this, open up the "config.ini" file which is in the /exec directory. Look for this line in that file: and try changing it to this: This will allow uploaded images to be created with readable permissions by default. Let us know if you need anything else! ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hey Jake, Thanks for your help solving this mystery. The steps that you proposed did not solve the problem however. Is there anything else that I might try? Do I need to send login info...and such? Tyler Watkins

Hi Tyler, Try switching that to umask = 000 and see if that works. If not, fill out a support request form on our website here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi ...and we can take a look for you. :) Donna

Hi Tyler, Thanks for the post! Yes, sending over your details sounds like it should be helpful so I can have a closer look into this for you. You can fill out the Support Request form on our site here: https://www.interactivetools.com/support/email_support.cgi Be sure to include your FTP details and rather than re-writing a description of this in the "Summary of Problem" field you can just put a link that points to this forum post. I look forward to your email Tyler! Cheers, Mike Briggs - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com

Hi, sorry for the reopening this thread after all this time. We just underwent an upgrade of Linux and found that we could no longer upload images. We then found this thread and it worked fine for us. but, just for the record (based on our understanding, hich others may want to add to)... Using umask 022 (as originally suggested) results in a CHMOD of 644 (ie. Read access to the world). However the umask 000 option (sitting waiting to be used in config.ini, and suggested in the followup to this thread) results in a CHMOD of 666. Maybe the difference between 644 and 666 isn't that big a deal, but it might help if IT could give their thoughts for future reference? Thanks

Hi seGAP, 644 permissions are more secure than 666, so it's recommended that you use that setting when possible - this can't always be done on some servers. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
