No documentation for installing into Windows Server 2003...

First off, I thought I had it installed correctly, but now I can't access any of the .cgi pages. I can't login, or get to the install.cgi page (even though I checked it was there via an FTP client). I figure the permissions are messed up, but am not certain. I checked http://www.interactivetools.com/docs/listingsmanager/doc_page18.html and couldn't get it to work. Are the setting different for Windows Server 2003?

Hi Chris, The permissions should be the same regardless of what version of Windows you're running. Can you let me know what error messages you're getting? Donna

I simply cannot see the page that I know exists: http://screi.net/listman/exec/install.cgi The directions on the link above refer to "IUSR_SERVERNAME", I couldn't find a similar user in the security tab of the folder properties.

Hi Chris, Chances are, your web server isn't setup to acknowledge .cgi files. You can test this by renaming the install.cgi, search.cgi & admin.cgi to install.pl, search.pl & admin.pl and trying to run them again. Windows is a bit odd in that it occasionally gives back a "page not found" error when in reality, it just didn't know what to do with the file. The "IUSR_SERVERNAME" (where "servername" is the name of your actual server) definitely still exists in Windows 2003. If you don't see that, you may have a different setup. In any event, you'll need to find the user that Perl runs as. In a default installation, it'll be IUSR_SERVERNAME... but this is customizable, so you may want to check with your server admin. I hope this helps. :) Donna

I checked with our server admin and everything was working until we tried to login, he replied back with: You will need to check with them on that one. It says: HTTP Error 403.1 - Forbidden: Execute access is denied. Internet Information Services (IIS) ...but every single directory in the listman and below have execute access.

Hi Chris, Sometimes you need to set Execute access on the script files themselves. You'll want to check that the admin.cgi, install.cgi, and search.cgi files all have Read/Execute access assigned to them in addition to the software directories. ----------------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Jake Swanson - Product Specialist support@interactivetools.com
